Our van rental in Tunisia offers two automatic diesel vans, each taking six large suitcases. The Mercedes-Benz V-Class, seven leather seats, is the van for delegations, weddings and families who want to travel with luxury-sedan comfort. The Peugeot Traveller, eight seats, is the practical minibus for groups of friends, sports teams and hotel transfers: sliding doors, parking sensors, GPS. Deposit, insurance and mileage
Every 8-seater rental in Tunisia includes 300 km per day, basic third-party insurance and full-to-full fuel: you return the car with the same level as at delivery. A refundable security deposit of 6,000–8,000 TND for this category is held during the rental and returned in full when the car comes back in good condition. It is your maximum liability, nothing is charged beyond it. The exact amount per model is shown on each car page. No extra insurance packages are sold. To rent you need to be 21, hold a licence for at least two years and present a passport or ID card plus a credit or debit card. If your itinerary runs past 300 km a day, tell us the route: the formula is confirmed at booking.
Group airport transfer or minibus with driver
A group landing at Tunis-Carthage, Djerba or Enfidha does not want to split into three taxis. With the V-Class or the Traveller, everyone leaves together with the luggage. If you prefer not to drive, book the same van with a professional English and French-speaking driver: private transfer with a name sign and flight tracking, a full day at your disposal for Carthage, Sidi Bou Said or Hammamet, or a multi-day tour to Kairouan, Tozeur or Djerba. Outside Greater Tunis and Djerba, fuel and the driver's accommodation are confirmed in the quote. The fixed price is confirmed on WhatsApp before you travel.
Airport delivery and booking
Your van is waiting in the arrivals hall. Delivery and collection are free at Tunis-Carthage (TUN) and Djerba-Zarzis (DJE) airports, and cost €60 each way at Enfidha-Hammamet (NBE): a VIPCAR agent waits for you in the arrivals hall, day or night. Our Tunis, Gabès and Djerba offices also serve as pick-up points, and a one-way rental, for example Tunis to Djerba, is possible for a €70–€100 fee depending on the route, confirmed at booking. Send your dates, pick-up place and flight number on WhatsApp: you receive a fixed quote within minutes, with no payment for the quote. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pick-up (inside 24 hours, the reservation deposit is not refunded and a 20% fee applies). Rates are in TND; EUR, USD, GBP and SAR are accepted, in cash, by card, bank transfer or payment link.

What are the requirements to rent a car in Tunisia?+
Be at least 21 years old, hold a driving licence for a minimum of two years, and present your passport or ID card plus a credit or debit card for the security deposit, as set out in our Terms & Conditions.
How much is the security deposit?+
It depends on the category: 1,500–3,000 TND for economy cars, 5,000 TND for standard cars and 6,000–8,000 TND for luxury cars. The exact amount is shown on each car page. The deposit is refundable, returned in full when the car comes back in good condition, and it is your maximum liability.
Is insurance included, and what does the deposit cover?+
Basic third-party insurance is included in every rental. We do not sell extra insurance packages: the refundable security deposit is your maximum liability. Whatever happens during the rental, nothing is charged beyond the deposit, and it is returned in full if the car comes back in good condition.
Is there a mileage limit?+
300 km per day are included in every rental, enough for day trips from Tunis, Hammamet or Djerba. Planning a longer itinerary, such as a tour of the south? Tell us your route and the formula is confirmed at booking.
What is the fuel policy?+
Full-to-full: the car is delivered with a given fuel level and you return it with the same level. There is no refuelling package to buy, and nothing to pay if the level matches.
Can you deliver the car to my hotel or to the airport?+
Yes. Delivery and collection at Tunis-Carthage (TUN) and Djerba-Zarzis (DJE) are free, 24/7, including night arrivals; at Enfidha-Hammamet (NBE) they cost €60 each way. We also deliver to hotels around our offices in Tunis, Gabès and Djerba, and almost anywhere in Tunisia on request.
Can I pick up in Tunis and return in Djerba?+
Yes. One-way rentals between Tunis, Djerba and Gabès, including their airports, are allowed. A one-way fee of €70–€100 applies depending on the route, confirmed at booking.
Do you offer weekly, monthly or long-term rates?+
Yes. Most cars have discounted weekly and monthly rates shown on their page, and long-term corporate contracts are available with formal invoicing.
Which currencies and payment methods do you accept?+
Prices are displayed in TND with a EUR conversion, and we accept TND, EUR, USD, GBP and SAR. You can pay in cash, by card, bank transfer, PayPal, Revolut or a secure payment link.
Do I need an International Driving Permit in Tunisia?+
Not for most visitors: a valid national licence held for at least two years is accepted. If your licence is not written in the Latin alphabet, we recommend carrying an International Driving Permit alongside it.
Can I take the rental car outside Tunisia?+
No. Crossing the border with the vehicle is not permitted, per our Terms & Conditions. Inside the country you are free to explore, including the south, with 300 km per day included.
How are rental days counted?+
Rentals are billed on a 24-hour basis from pick-up time; late returns may incur extra charges. Some vehicles have a minimum rental duration, shown on the car page.
Any tips for driving in Tunisia?+
Drive on the right; speed limits are posted in km/h. Keep your licence, passport and rental contract in the car. Fill up before heading into the south, where fuel stations are further apart. Check the car with our agent at delivery and take photos, so your deposit comes back in full.
