The deposit: what it is and is not
The deposit is often the least explained part of cheap car rental in Tunisia. At VIPCAR it is refundable and held for the rental: 1,500–3,000 TND for the Kia Picanto, Hyundai i20 and Suzuki Ciaz (economy category), 5,000 TND for standard vehicles. The exact amount is shown on each car page.
What it is: your maximum liability. Whatever happens during the rental, nothing is ever charged beyond the deposit, and it is returned in full when the car comes back in good condition. What it is not: a payment. It replaces the insurance packages we do not sell. A credit or debit card is accepted. - Pick the right period: seasonal rates exist per car; outside summer peaks the quote is often gentler.

- Skip an unnecessary one-way: returning the car in another city costs €70–100 depending on the route.

Cheap car hire in Tunisia straight off the plane costs nothing extra at VIPCAR: delivery and collection are free at Tunis-Carthage (TUN), Djerba-Zarzis (DJE) and Enfidha-Hammamet (NBE) airports, day or night. You send us your flight number, an agent waits for you in arrivals with a name sign, and the car is parked at the exit.
A Picanto or an i20 delivered at Tunis-Carthage therefore costs the same daily rate as at our Lac 2 office, with no airport supplement; in Djerba, our office is at the airport itself. On the way home we meet you at departures at the agreed time, tank full, and the deposit is released once the car has been checked.
