Deposit Policy

Two different amounts

• The reservation deposit is a percentage of the rental paid in advance to confirm a booking; it is deducted from the balance.
• The security deposit is a refundable amount held during the rental and returned in full when the vehicle comes back in good condition. It is the renter's maximum liability.

Reservation deposit amounts

• 10% for standard vehicles.
• 20% for luxury vehicles (Mercedes E-Class, Mercedes V-Class, etc.).

When is the reservation deposit required?

• For all reservations made more than 7 days in advance.
• For last-minute reservations (0-7 days), the reservation deposit is optional or subject to availability.
• Please note: without a reservation deposit, a booking is not guaranteed and may be cancelled at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances (vehicle availability).
• Requesting a quote is free and requires no payment.

Security deposit amounts

• Economy vehicles: 1,500–3,000 TND.
• Standard vehicles: 5,000 TND.
• Luxury vehicles: 6,000–8,000 TND.
• The exact amount is shown on each vehicle page and in the rental contract. Basic third-party insurance is included; no additional insurance packages are sold, and nothing is charged beyond the security deposit.

Balance payment

The balance is paid when the customer receives the vehicle, by:

• Cash (TND, EUR, USD, GBP or SAR)
• Credit or debit card
• Secure payment link

Cancellation

• Free cancellation up to 24 hours before vehicle pickup.
• The reservation deposit is non-refundable for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the reservation.
• If VIPCAR cannot provide the vehicle for exceptional reasons, the reservation deposit is fully refunded.
• Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days.
